Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
Memento Studio (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our desktop application and related services, and how we use and protect it.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide. When you purchase a Pro license, we collect the information needed to complete the transaction (e.g., email address, name, payment details). Payment processing is handled by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store your full payment card details. When you contact support, we collect the information you choose to provide (e.g., email, message content).
Information stored on your device. The Memento Studio app stores connection settings, credentials, and preferences locally on your Mac. This data stays on your device unless you export or share it. We do not have access to it.
License and activation. When you activate a Pro license, the app communicates with our license server to validate your license key. We may store your email, license status, and machine identifiers to enforce license terms and provide support. We do not receive or store the contents of your databases.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process payments and deliver Pro licenses (including sending your license key by email)
- Verify license activation and enforce license terms (e.g., machine limits)
- Respond to support requests and improve our services
- Send transactional or important product-related communications (e.g., license confirmation, security or legal notices)
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your database data for any purpose; the App connects to databases you control, and we do not access their contents.
3. Data Retention
We retain customer and license information for as long as needed to provide the service, process refunds, and comply with legal and accounting requirements. Data stored locally in the App remains on your device until you uninstall the App or clear its data.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We may share information with:
- Service providers (e.g., Stripe for payments, email delivery) who assist in operating our business, under contracts that limit their use of your data
- Authorities when required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property
We do not share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
5. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect the information we hold (e.g., encryption, access controls). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; you provide information at your own risk. You are responsible for securing your license key and database credentials.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights or ask questions, contact us at support@mementostudio.app. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails via the link in those emails, where provided.
7. Children
Our services are not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have received such information, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We take steps to ensure that such processing is subject to appropriate safeguards where required by law.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App or our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Significant changes may be communicated by email or through the App where appropriate.
